When a driver calls for roadside assistance, they need fast answers, accurate information, and someone they trust. At Boss Truck Shops, that person is often part of the call center team led by Gabrielle, our Call Center Operations Manager. She oversees the daily workflow that keeps trucks — and drivers — moving safely across the country.
What Really Happens When a Roadside Call Comes In
Most drivers don’t realize how much coordination happens behind the scenes.
“When a roadside call comes in, there are quite a few moving parts,” Gabrielle explains.
A dispatcher immediately begins:
- Pinpointing the driver’s exact location
- Finding the closest shop or technician
- Checking inventory and service needs
- Writing a complete work order
- Dispatching a technician quickly and accurately
“Our goal is speed and 100% accuracy,” Gabrielle says. “When a driver is stressed, we want to be the steady voice that helps them through it.”
Highly Trained Dispatchers — More Than Drivers Realize
One of the biggest surprises for drivers?
“Our dispatchers spend 6–8 weeks in training before taking calls,” Gabrielle explains.
“And the trainer follows them closely for another 2–3 weeks. We become true subject matter experts.”
Dispatchers can perform everything a service adviser does — plus manage additional programs needed for roadside repairs.
“There is always a friendly, knowledgeable voice answering the phone — rain, snow, sunshine, or hail.”
What Gabrielle Loves Most About the Job
EGabrielle joined the team in July and has led significant improvements in process and workflow.
“I’m proud of my team’s adaptability. Change can be intimidating, but they’ve embraced it with grace and tenacity.”
Her passion for roadside service runs deep.
“The trucking world is unpredictable — every call is different. It’s an amazing feeling knowing you’re helping someone when they’re at their most vulnerable.”
Why the Call Center Matters
At Boss Truck Shops, roadside assistance is more than dispatching trucks — it’s about delivering speed, accuracy, and peace of mind.
“Our dispatchers have a wide variety of skills, and we take pride in getting drivers back on the road safely,” Gabrielle says.
Behind every successful roadcall is a team trained to handle anything — and dedicated to helping drivers when they need it most.
